Definition Explanation Text :
Explanation text is a type of text in English that explains a process. Speaking of process, this text is almost the same as the procedure text. However, if the procedure text describes how to do something (process), it describes how the process occurs.

That way, we can know that the explanation text serves to provide information through a detailed explanation of a phenomenon that occurs. In a book called “Exploring How Texts Work” written by Beverly Darewianka, this type of text addresses the answer to the question “Why is it so?"and also" How does it work". So that the writing made with explanation text must be detailed and can answer readers ' questions.

Structure Of Explanation Text :
1. Titles
Every writing MUST HAVE A title and not least writing with the type of explanation text. For titles with this type of text you don't need to beat around the bush.

You just need to provide a title that matches the content of the writing such as “What causes a Tsunami?", “Why are our rain forests disappearing?"or”the process of making aluminum".

2. Opening Statement
The purpose of writing with the type of explanation text is of course to provide valid information and facts to the reader. Therefore, a strong opening statement is very necessary for you to insert in writing and if you can you must include evidence such as journals or articles that have been tested for truth.

In the opening statement, you can also write the idetification of the process to be explained. Focus on the process of the phenomenon you want to explain and avoid too much to include the little things involved in the phenomenon.

3. Sequencing
In creating a piece of writing, write it in the form of short paragraphs and divide it into several parts. Don't let the reader get dizzy from reading paragraphs that are too long. Also use the relationship to insert the cause-effect of a phenomenon or event.

4. Conclusion
If everything has been discussed, don't forget to write a conclusion or conclusion from the information you provide. In this way, your writing will be considered more valid.

5. Visuals
In explaining a process, usually you will need visuals such as images, photos, diagrams, and so on to clarify the contents of the writing. You can also insert videos to make your writing more informative.

Description Text Properties :
- Because this type of writing discusses facts, the tense used is the simple present tense.

How Does Rain Happen

We all know that rain is the main source of fresh water for most regions of the world, providing suitable conditions for diverse ecosystems. Rain is water that falls from the sky through several processes until it rains. Do you know how rain happens?

The phenomenon of rain is actually a circle of water. The concept of the water circle includes the sun heating the Earth's water surface and causing the water surface to evaporate. Earth's water includes water from lakes, rivers, and oceans. Then, the water vapor condenses and becomes condensed steam. Condensed steam is formed from droplets so that when the air temperature is higher, the droplets gather, condense, and form into clouds. The presence of wind helps clouds move and gather in other places that have lower temperatures. At that time, the drops become heavier and unstoppable and cause them to fall resulting in rain.

If the drops fall in an area with very cold temperatures, they will fall like snow. However, not all rains reach the surface. Some evaporate as they fall through dry air. It's called Virga, a phenomenon often seen in hot, dry desert areas.
